Eric J. Gould is a shareholder of the firm Couzens, Lansky. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1989, and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan Business School in 1986. While earning his law degree from Wayne State University College of Law, he was a member of the Moot Court program, and was recognized for his oral and written advocacy skills. After receiving his Juris Doctor in 1989, Mr. Gould received a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1990.

Mr. Gould has been involved with the Oakland County Bar Association Tax Committee, having authored several articles on various tax issues for Laches, the Oakland County Bar publication. He has also spoken on various issues to accounting groups, such as the Michigan Association of Public Accountants, and dental groups, including the Detroit District Dental Society and the University of Michigan Dental School. He serves as an adjunct associate professor at Walsh College of Business, teaching courses in taxation and business law to undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, Eric is a den leader for Cub Scout Pack 364 in Farmington Hills.

Mr. Gould's primary concentration areas are Tax Planning, Health Care Law, Estate Planning, Business Transactions, Real Estate Transactions, General Corporate Matters, Business Succession Planning, and Asset Protection Planning. He has assisted clients in the purchase, sale and combination of medical and dental practices, the purchase, sale and combination of businesses, some involving the transfer of alcoholic beverage licenses, as well as transferring ownership of closely held businesses to family members and key employees. Mr. Gould is also involved with tax controversy matters arising with the Internal Revenue Service and Michigan Department of Treasury. He has also assisted clients in obtaining certification as Minority Business Enterprises and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises by Wayne County and the Michigan Minority Business Development Council.
